Three newborn snow leopards

At the zoo Nordens Ark, three snow leopard cubs were born in May. Newborn cubs are blind and helpless, but around midsummer the cubs begin to venture out from the den. In the wild, snow leopards are timid animals that lead a solitary life in a very large territory. The species is totally protected, but it is nevertheless hunted for its beautiful fur and the bones which are used in traditional Asiatic medicine.
