The around 20 research projects so far completed by Vindval have made a study of how wind power affects human interests, life in the seas and birds and bats.
Now we know, among other things, that few people are disturbed by the noise from wind turbines, that the foundations of wind turbines in the sea form reefs that provide protection and food for fishes, that birds which flow over the sea fly round wind turbines, and that bats do not like to hunt for insects near wind turbines in the sea when the wind blows hard.
Experts have compiled the results of Vindval’s research. Researchers, designers and staff write of their results and experiences. The report also contains descriptions of ten recently started projects.
