Copenhagen University gives a bonus to the faculty that chooses a woman when they want to appoint a professor. The aim is to try and retain the clever women who now give up their research career. Today, roughly the same number of men and women are trained as researchers. Nevertheless, only one in ten professors is a woman. According to the plan of action of the university, the following steps must be taken:
- Financial reward to the faculties when they appoint women as professors.
- Scholarships for young researchers so that they may build up international research networks.
- Talent and leadership development programmes which can give female researchers the necessary motivation.
