At the beginning of the year, a number of investments for environmental and climate measures were made in the Rural Development Programme. More than BSEK 3.7 are allocated for five challenges agreed to by the EU ministers of agriculture: climate and energy, water quality and eutrophication, biodiversity and the environmental sector. About BSEK 1 of this money is new money from other parts of the agricultural policy.
The programme for 2007-2013 will, with funds totalling ca BSEK 35 (from EU and nationally), support an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable development of the Swedish countryside.
